Final games for 1-16 places

In the last weekend “Sportima” was full of energy. For the first time in Lithuania’s history in 3 days in one arena 76 teams participated and 228 matches were played.

In the largest tournament in the Baltic states “Ateitis CUP” competed four groups of different aged teams. Every team played 6 matches each. Among teams we  have seen: Torino “Juventus” , which slowly is getting involved in all our tournaments, as well one of the strongest team in Sweden between nine-year-olds “Brommapojkarna”, and youngsters from Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Russia and, of course, Lithuania. In all about 1100 football players participated in our tournament.

Among the nine-year-olds triumphed FK “Tukums” , the team which has surely won “Ateitis CUP” not for the first time. This team, from a small Latvian town with no obstacles won the finals against the “Brommapojkarna”, team who won almost every match until FK “Tukums”. In the semi-final met two teams of Belarus, Minsk’s “Dinamo” celebrated their victory.

In the group of eight-year-olds  „Žalgirietis” has failed, they were leading by the score of 2: 0, but then they gave 3 goals and the winner’s cup to “Liepaja” football academy. Third place was taken by guests from Minsk.

Minsk teams had a lot of luck in games against seven-year-olds, they won even got 4 places at the top of the tournament scoreboard. In the youngest boys group Latvia’s team showed the best performance. In the final, Jųrmala’s “Spartaks” were defeated by Liepaja’s Academy. In the fight for third place Minsk’s “Dinamo” won with a beautiful battle against Vilnius TFA Milan ‘pupils.

In the penultimate Ateitis CUP 2016 tournament competed 28 teams from 9 countries. Among the guests, we could have seen Italian, Spanish, and for the first time in the tournament, Swiss teams.

The biggest surprise of the tournament was Juventus young football players appearance – they only took the 8th place, losing both the quarterfinals and the further matches for the fifth and seventh places.

The Swiss, team which was in this tournament for in the first time, had a lot of luck with their first two games, but they suffered a heavy blow form the third one, the fight against Kaliningrad SDJUSSHOR’s, and so they did not manage to get into the top eight.

Soocer Barcelona Youth Academy’s students suffered a similar impact, they not only won all three victories, but also showed the best result among all 28 teams. Unfortunately, this fact did not help in the quarterfinals, which were lost to Minsk FSHM, the bronze winners.

The best in the tournament was Dinamo Kyiv, team that defeated Juventus in the quarterfinal,  TFA Milan in the semifinal, and in the final,  “Dinamo” Minsk.

In the final, Minsk youths were able to recover after a missed goal, but in the second half, guests from Kyiv showed what they are really capable of.

In the minor finals, Minsk FSHM, only after penalties won against the Lithuanian team’s “TFA Milan” youths who had the best performance in between Lithuanian teams . No other team had managed to get to the top eight.

1. „Dinamo“ Kyiv(Ukraine)
